WIRE WRAPPED DICHROIC FUSED GLASS PENDANTS
Dichroic glass is an expensive medium to work with. I'm proud to say that I create my own glass pieces and use my wire wrapping abilities to bring you very unique pendants. Each pendant is one of a kind.
Using a kiln, I fuse layers of glass for 8 hours and let it cool. I then have to shape it with a diamond bit grinder and fire it again. Some of my glass has rounded edges and some don't. This is due to different firing techniques.
Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA when they where experimenting with different protective finishes for face shields. Dichroic glass means "two colors" as it shifts colors when turned. Some glass changes more than others. Glass companies sell us artists glass that has been bombarded in a vacuum chamber with different minerals to create different colors. This glass now comes in many different styles, colors and designs.
These pieces are not to be confused with my Dicrofex products. This is genuine dichroic glass.
All glass pieces are wire wrapped with sterling silver wire.
